West Photo Imaging LLC is owned and operated by Richard West.  Richard received his Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Photography from the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology.  He worked as a photographic assistant in the Photographic Illustration Division of Eastman Kodak Company and as a photographic lab technician at Empire Graphics Corporation (div. of Case/Hoyt Printers) in Rochester, New York, before moving to New Jersey.

Since moving to New Jersey, Richard has worked as a photographic lab equipment manufacturer's technical representative and managed three New Jersey custom professional photographic labs before establishing West Photographic Services, Inc., in 1982.  For twenty years West Photographic Services, Inc., was a leading custom photographic lab in northern New Jersey.  From the time it first entered the Kodak E-6 Q-Lab program in 1987 until it closed its doors at the end of April 2002, West Photographic Services, Inc., had achieved consistently high rankings in quality control for its E-6 film processing line and was ranked among the top Q-Labs in the Tri-State area.

Restructured as West Photo Imaging LLC in August of 2002, and continuing its work in digital imaging began in the mid 1990's, the company now specializes in digital imaging capture and output services as outlined on this website.  Also provided are photographic services and consultation services in digital workflow, imaging, and color management.  Richard is available for speaking engagements at camera clubs and other groups interested in learning more about digital imaging basics.  Advanced consultation is also available on a one-on-one basis.

Richard has taught photography courses at the Summit Art Center (Summit, NJ), the Madison/Chatham Adult School (Madison, NJ), and conducted the first January Term course in Photography at Drew University (Madison, NJ).  He has had numerous one-man exhibitions in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the 1970's and early 1980's before starting his photo lab business.
